How to replace the Body Control Module (BCM) on 2006 Chevrolet Colorado?

Keep the Ignition Switch in the off position for bcm replacement. Start the job by taking away the right front hinge pillar trim panel. Unplug the bcm from its place on the main body wiring and then remove the main panel wiring from its bcm connection. Separate the body wiring harness fastener from the bcm before you detach its two fasteners from the hinge pillar. You can open the integral tab to pull the bcm off from the hinge pillar and bring it away from the vehicle. Attach the bcm to the hinge pillar opening by engaging its built-in tab. Then fasten it with two screws followed by screwing the Body Wiring Harness Connector into place on the bcm. Join the i/p wiring harness electrical connector and the body wiring harness electrical connector a by connecting them to bcm. Put back the right front hinge pillar trim panel at the end. When replacing the bcm with a new unit you should determine if programming steps are required.
