How to replace the multifunction turn signal switch on 2006 Chevrolet Colorado?

First, you need to turn off the sir system and then take off the Steering Wheel along with the trim covers from the steering column. After that, take off the wire harness straps and disconnect the multifunction switch/sir coil assembly harness from the base of the steering column. Take the lead off the wire harness assembly, and take out the 3 pan head tapping screws holding the switch/sir coil assembly in place; slide it off the steering column and dispose of it if you are replacing it. It is important to make sure the new multifunction switch/sir coil assembly is already centered and the centering tab is still attached when installing. Do not take off the tab until after installation so you maintain the proper position. If you are going to use the existing assembly, make sure the sir coil is centered first. Put the 3 pan head tapping screws in place and tighten them to 3 nm (30 inch-lbs.), then attach the multifunction switch/sir coil assembly connector after guiding the wire harness down. Make sure the wire harness straps are back on, take off the centering tab, fit the steering column trim covers, and install the Steering Wheel before you can enable the sir system.
