Turn Signal Switch

News signal system operation requires being disabled before the Turn Signal Switch replacement process can start. Take off the Steering Wheel and steering column trim covers and release wires from their attachment on the wire harness assembly. Detach the Turn Signal Switch/battery assembly connector at the column base while removing its lead wire from the harness. Remove the 3 pan head tapping screws that secure the Turn Signal Switch/sir coil assembly from the steering column and then slide it off for replacement. During installation keep the new Turn Signal Switch/sir coil assembly in centered position while its centering tab remains attached until installation is fully finished to prevent misalignment. When using the current sir coil keep it in its central position. Attach the Turn Signal Switch/sir coil assembly to the steering column by tightening its 3 pan head tapping screws to 4.5 n.m (40 lb in). Direct the wiring harness through the steering column tube and join it to the Turn Signal Switch connector base before putting back the wiring holder straps. Take out the centering tab before you attach the steering column trim covers and the Steering Wheel. Finally, enable the sir system.

You must take out the turn signal multifunction switch before replacing the housing. Locate and uninstall the bolts holding the multifunction turn signal switch housing before extracting the component from its location. Place the multifunction turn signal switch housing in position while keeping to the fastener notice for safe handling. Fasten the housing using bolts and tighten it to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in) torque value before placing back the turn signal multifunction switch.

The first step to replace the headlamp switch involves removing the knee bolster trim panel followed by unfastening the switch screw from the instrument panel (I/P). After pulling the switch partially from the i/p you should disconnect the electrical connector before taking it out of the vehicle. Place the switch against the i/p before connecting its electrical connector. The switch should be installed onto the i/p and secured with the screw which needs to be tightened to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in) following the fastener notice in service precautions. The last step involves putting back the knee bolster trim panel.

The replacement of headlamp switches begins with extracting the knee bolster trim panel. Initially remove the i/p-sustaining screw for the switch then carefully extract part of the switch from the i/p before disconnecting its electrical connector to remove the switch from the vehicle. During installation you should position the switch in front of the instrument panel then connect its electrical connector. Follow the fastener caution guidelines to install the switch on the instrument panel (I/P) before securing it with the screw at 2.5 nm (22 lb in). Reinstall the knee bolster trim panel as the last installation step.

Before you replace the Turn Signal Switch you must detach the Steering Wheel and extract steering column trim pieces. Detach electrical connections and take out the wiring harness from its holder when necessary. Pull the bolts holding the Turn Signal Switch along the steering column and ease the switch off the column. When you add a new Turn Signal Switch use its centering tab to line up the component before you start the installation process. Position the standard switch in the center before attaching it to the steering column. Fit the Turn Signal Switch onto the steering column space and secure it with bolts at 7 nm (62 lb in) torque specification. Run the wire harness assembly through the steering column and connect its electrical links before putting it into retainers when required. When done take off the centering tab before adding steering column trim covers and putting back the Steering Wheel.

Install the Turn Signal Switch on the steering column then fasten its bolts until they reach 7 n.m (62 lb in). Pass the wiring harness along the steering column then connect all electrical connections and fix the wiring harness in place. Unfasten the centering tab last and put back the Steering Wheel and trim covers once you secure the steering column trim covers.

Remove the 2 washer head screws from the switch mounting plate.

Detach the wire harness straps.

Route the wire harness assembly down the steering column and connect the multifunction switch/SIR coil assembly connector.

Disconnect the electrical connector before fully removing the switch from the vehicle.

Enable the SIR system.

Remove the 2 washer head screws from the switch mounting plate.

First, remove the turn signal multifunction switch.

Install the switch to the I/P and secure it with the screw, tightening it to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

Begin by installing the multifunction turn signal switch housing, ensuring to follow fastener caution guidelines.
