  • Q: How to replace the coolant reservoir in a cooling system on 2007 Chevrolet Corvette?
    A: Drain the cooling system to replace the Coolant Reservoir. Caution is necessary; there should not be the use of Radiator Cap removal or use of Coolant Reservoir cap when the engine is hot as it could cause burns from scalding fluids and steam. Release tension on the Coolant Reservoir inlet hose clamp, then remove the Coolant Reservoir inlet hose from the Coolant Reservoir. Disengage tension on the Coolant Reservoir outlet hose clamp with the help of the j 38185 hose clamp pliers and disconnect the Coolant Reservoir outlet hose from the Coolant Reservoir. Take off the protective cap at the Coolant Reservoir upper stud, followed by the upper stud of the Coolant Reservoir and loosen the Coolant Reservoir side nut to extract the Coolant Reservoir. For installation, the interior hose diameter should be lubricated with clean coolant before fitting the Coolant Reservoir. Anew on the top Coolant Reservoir nut and tighten all nuts to 8n.m (71 lb in). Put the protective cap back onto the Coolant Reservoir upper stud, hook up the Coolant Reservoir outlet hose to the Coolant Reservoir and apply tension to the Coolant Reservoir outlet hose clamp. Finally, attach the Coolant Reservoir inlet hose to the Coolant Reservoir and tighten the Coolant Reservoir inlet hose on the clamp with tension prior to completing the cooling system.
