    Q:
How to replace the coolant reservoir on Chevrolet Corvette? Posted by Customer
    A:
As a first step to replace the coolant reservoir you should drain the cooling system. Detach the reservoir inlet hose from the reservoir by removing the clamp tension and unhooking the hose from the tank. Use J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185) to loosen the reservoir outlet hose clamp tension before disconnecting the reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir. Remove the protective cap from the upper reservoir stud to access the reservoir upper nut before loosening the side nut for reservoir removal. The inside diameters of hoses require clean coolant lubrication before reservoir installation. Begin by installing the upper reservoir nut followed by a progressive tightening of all hardware until they reach 8 N.m (71 lb in) torque. The technician needs to replace the reservoir upper stud's protective cap before clamping the reservoir outlet hose onto the tank followed by tightening the reservoir outlet clamp. To complete the installation connect the reservoir inlet hose to the reservoir before applying tension to the reservoir inlet hose clamp. Finally, fill the cooling system.
