How to replace the rear transverse leaf spring on 2007 Chevrolet Corvette?

The replacement of a rear transverse spring requires vehicle suspension and tire and wheel removal while protecting the spring from damage. The transverse spring compressor (J 33432-A) should be used to compress the transverse spring before removing one lower Control Arm and transverse spring mounting bolts and retainers while discarding both old mounting bolts. The transverse spring needs removal from the vehicle followed by disconnecting the compressor unless you plan to replace it. Before installing a new transverse spring the transverse spring compressor (J 33432-A) must be used to compress and position the spring before mounting it to the crossmember. New transverse spring retainer-to-crossmember bolts must be installed before fitting the transverse spring retainers and new mounting bolts which require torque tightening to 62 n.m (46 lb ft). After reinstalling the lower Control Arm to its position at the Rear Crossmember you should remove the compressor and reinstall the tire and wheel assemblies. The installation of a new transverse spring requires both rear trim height adjustment and a rear wheel alignment after installation.
