2007 Chevrolet Equinox Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the starter motor on 2007 Chevrolet Equinox?
A: Begin Starter motor replacement by disconnecting the battery negative cable from the battery then raising the vehicle securely. Begin by removing the Starter motor solenoid positive terminal nut as well as its electrical wires before proceeding to loosen the s terminal nut along with its wire. The next step requires the removal of the torque converter cover bolt then subsequent removal of the torque converter cover. After removing the two Starter motor bolts the Starter motor must also be removed. Before fitting the Starter motor use the fastener notice to position it correctly. Attach the Starter motor bolts (2, 3) while tightening them to 43 n.m (32 lb ft). Reinstall the torque converter cover by attaching the torque converter cover bolt then tighten it using 8 n.m (71 lb in) torque. To complete the installation of the Starter solenoid connect the electrical s terminal wire and its nut until it achieves 3 n.m torque followed by the positive terminal wire and its nut to 10 n.m torque. When the vehicle reaches the floor lower it down and join the battery negative cable back to the battery.
