  A: Rpos lze lz4 and lz8 require draining the cooling system prior to Thermostat replacement. The first step includes removing the air cleaner outlet duct then resetting the radiator outlet hose clamp at the Thermostat Housing. Securely remove both the radiator outlet hose from the Thermostat Housing (3.5L shown, 3.9L similar design) and the Thermostat Housing bolt or stud. Begin by removing the Thermostat Housing followed by its gasket then proceed to extract the Thermostat itself. Thorough cleaning should happen before putting in a brand-new Thermostat. Place a fresh replacement gasket along with the Thermostat Housing onto the engine block but take care to attach the Thermostat Housing bolt/stud and torque it to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Here we attach the radiator outlet hose back to the Thermostat Housing (3.5L shown, 3.9L similar) while placing the radiator outlet hose clamp on the Thermostat Housing. Finally install the air cleaner outlet duct while filling the cooling system then inspect for all leaks.
