2007 Chevrolet Impala Fan Motor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Electric Cooling Fan Motor on 2007 Chevrolet Impala?
A: It is necessary to begin by keeping all body parts along with tools and clothing away from the electric fan inside the underhood compartment since this fan possesses the capacity to activate even after the engine turns off. The first step consists of disconnecting the Fan Shroud along with managing the Fan Blade to stop its rotation. The ge-47827 (GE-47827) socket enables users to reverse the direction of Fan Motor drive plate movement against the arrow on the Fan Blade until complete disengagement occurs. Garage technicians need to throw away the Fan Blade after securing all cooling Fan Motor entry points through tape coverage against debris entry. Use center punching to mark each rivet on the motor rear before drilling their heads with a 6.35 mm (0.25 in) drill bit to effectively remove them from the Fan Shroud. You should remove the Fan Motor from the shroud to blow off debris before you remove tape covering the entry points. Place the new engine cooling Fan Motor against the Fan Shroud before inserting bolts from the front side and tightening the cooling Fan Motor nuts to 6 n.m (53 lb in). Heat the new Fan Blade hub for at least one full minute at 49°c (120°F) in hot tap water before placing it on the Fan Motor drive plate while gripping to avoid blade rotation. Draw the Fan Motor drive plate with ge-47827 (GE-47827) socket while it faces the same direction as the arrow on the Fan Blade blade until it fully engages. Before reinstalling the Fan Shroud assembly to the vehicle you must check the cooling Fan Blade rotation then install.
