In order to change the valve lifters, pull off the cylinder head along with the gasket, and then the valve lifter guide bolts. Removal of valve lifters and guide, including those that might be stuck. Check and wash the valve lifters, lubricate them and place them back at the same position as they were before assembling the engine.
