  To extract the valve lifters install remove the Cylinder Head and gasket, and change valve lifter guide bolts. Then take out the valve lifters and guide, while marking that some of them even may become attached because of gum or varnish deposits; use the valve lifter remover (J 3049-A) or a similar one if you deem the need necessary. After disconnecting the valve lifters from guide, inventorize or label the components in order to reinstall in the original positions. If necessary, clean and check the valve lifters. During a reinstallation, used valve lifters should be used in their former positions. Apply clean engine oil to the lifting lever and the engine block lifting lever and guides bore; secure the lifting lever to the guide inlet in the lifting guide bore flat pieces so that the flat piece side stands above the guide inlet and then press the valve lifting lever fully into the guide bore until the carnation of the valve lifting lever and the flat piece of the message arrives at the base of the guide plate at the beginning. Replace the valve lifters and the guide to the engine block and install the valve lifter guide by fastening it using the valve lifter guide bolts (tension to 12 Nm 106 inch lbs.). Finally, fit the Cylinder Head and gasket.
