How to replace the Lash Adjusters on Chevrolet Avalanche 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Starting with the Intake Manifold removal enables access to valve rocker arms and pushrods as the next step before accessing valve lifter guides and retainers. The maintenance starts by removing retainer bolts and their corresponding retainer from the valve lifter guides. Before taking off the valve lifters it's vital to mark or organize the valve lifters and guide assemblies according to their original placement. When valve lifters get stuck in their bore due to gum or varnish buildup the valve lifter remover (J 3049-A) will help in their extraction. When replacing the Camshaft all valve lifters need replacement. Apply gm p/n 12345501 and canadian p/n 992704 lubricant or equivalent to coat all valve lifter rollers. Reusing the valve lifters requires maintaining their original position and confirming that the valve lifter guide retainer touches all valve lifter guides before installation. A new retainer must be placed if it shows bending. A bent retainer must be replaced before installation. Place the valve lifter guides onto the valve lifters' flat sections while aligning them precisely to the Camshaft lobes. Install the valve lifters first. Use valve lifter guide retainers alongside their bolts to tighten them up to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Install the Intake Manifold after replacing valve rocker arms and pushrods.

How to replace the Lash Adjusters on Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
To extract the valve lifters install remove the Cylinder Head and gasket, and change valve lifter guide bolts. Then take out the valve lifters and guide, while marking that some of them even may become attached because of gum or varnish deposits; use the valve lifter remover (J 3049-A) or a similar one if you deem the need necessary. After disconnecting the valve lifters from guide, inventorize or label the components in order to reinstall in the original positions. If necessary, clean and check the valve lifters. During a reinstallation, used valve lifters should be used in their former positions. Apply clean engine oil to the lifting lever and the engine block lifting lever and guides bore; secure the lifting lever to the guide inlet in the lifting guide bore flat pieces so that the flat piece side stands above the guide inlet and then press the valve lifting lever fully into the guide bore until the carnation of the valve lifting lever and the flat piece of the message arrives at the base of the guide plate at the beginning. Replace the valve lifters and the guide to the engine block and install the valve lifter guide by fastening it using the valve lifter guide bolts (tension to 12 Nm 106 inch lbs.). Finally, fit the Cylinder Head and gasket.

    Q:
How to replace the Lash Adjusters on Chevrolet Silverado 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Replacement of valve lifters requires initial Cylinder Head removal with gasket followed by guide bolt removal. Users must remove the valve lifters and guide while paying close attention to potentially stuck lifters from gum or varnish buildup. The valve lifter remover tool identified as j 3049-a or an equivalent device will be necessary. Organize the components after removing them from the guide to successfully reassemble them. Examine the valve lifters while cleaning them if necessary. Reused lifters need to be returned to their original locations when reinstalling the parts. Clean engine oil should be used to lubricate the engine block valve lifter bores and the valve lifters before placing them into position through their guides. Position the flat areas on top of each lifter against the matching flat area in the guide bore before pushing all the lifters into complete insertion. Install and tighten the valve lifters and guide back onto the engine block while using 12 nm (106 inch lbs.) torque on the bolts. Reinstall the Cylinder Head while installing its gasket as the final step of the process.

How to replace the Lash Adjusters on Chevrolet Suburban 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to replace the valve lifters, untidy the Intake Manifold, then proceed to the valley Rocker Arm and pushrods. Second, extract the valve lifter guide retainer bolts and retainer, then remove the valve lifter guides. It should be important to pin, sort, or categorize the valve lifters and guides for installation in their original position before removing the valve lifters. If there are any valve lifters that are stuck in their bore because of gum or varnish deposits, the valve lifter remover (J3049-A) can be used with some formal help in removing them. Once the valve lifters clean up and are inspected, if a new Camshaft is mounted, replace all the valve lifters. Apply lubricant gm U.S. P/N-12345501 or canada P/N 992704 or the equivalent to the valve lifter rollers. In reusing the valve lifters, please install them to their original position and make sure the valve lifter guides retainer is in contact with all of the valve lifter guides. If the retainer is bent, it needs to be replaced. Carry on and install the valve lifters, after that, slide the valve lifter guides over the flats of the valve lifters, with the rollers in alignment to the lobes of the Camshaft. Install valve lifter guide retainer and valve lifter guide retainer bolts and tighten them to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Lastly, reinstall the valve rocker arms and the pushrods as well as the Intake Manifold.

How to replace the Lash Adjusters on GMC Savana 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before replacing valve lifters begin by removing the Intake Manifold and valve push rods then install the lifters along with their guides to their factory settings. Working sequentially removes the valve lifter guide retainer and valve lifter guides from the engine block before one-by-one extracting the valve lifters. A stuck valve lifter can be extracted with the valve lifter remover tool (J 3049-A). Engine oil supplement gm p/n 1051396 or an equivalent must be added to the engine oil during installation alongside changing the engine oil and Oil Filter whenever new valve lifters or a new Camshaft are installed. How to Replace a Lash Adjuster Using the Valve Lifter Remover on GMC Yukon XL 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
A procedure to replace valve lifters starts with Cylinder Head removal alongside gasket extraction and changes into replacing valve lifter guide bolts. The valve lifter remover (J3049-A) serves as a tool to break loose valve lifters which are trapped due to gum or varnish deposits. Arrange the extracted valve lifters after guide removal so you can easily reinstall them correctly. Proposed procedures include examining valve lifters for damage. During installation of valve lifters always replace them in their original guide position. Apply clean engine oil to both engine block valve lifter bore surfaces and top sides of valve lifters before dropping the valve lifters into the guide bores with their flat sections matching. Push the lifter completely into the guide bore before you install the valve lifters and guide to the engine block. Begin by installing the valve lifter guide bolts at 12 nm (106 inch lbs.) torque then move to installing the Cylinder Head and gasket.
