  A: The initial step for Fuel Injector replacement starts with removing the Fuel Rail assembly. First disconnect the Fuel Injector electrical connectors attached to the fuel injectors before you remove their retainer clips to extract the fuel injectors from the Fuel Rail. You must discard the injector retainer clips before taking off the injector o-ring seals (3,5) from both ends of each injectors and throwing away the seals. The correct selection of new fuel injectors depends on matching the required application because each Fuel Injector assembly displays part number information together with a four-digit build date code that contains month, day, year and shift data for injector manufacturing. Apply clean engine oil on new injector o-ring seals 2 and 4 after which attach them to the Fuel Injector assembly. Lock the retainer clip onto the Fuel Rail injector socket flange by sliding it onto the injector while pushing the fuel injectors until the electrical connector faces outside.
