How to replace the Battery Cable for the negative terminal on 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L engines on 2007 GMC Savana 2500?

To remove the negative side battery for the 4.8l,5.3l and 6.0l engines, first identify then disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery. Then, remove the negative cable lead from the inner fender panel. For the case of models with 5.3l engine, you will remove the lead from the frame; for 4.8l and 6.0 l engines, you will remove it from the frame as well. Next, unplug the lead from the engine block and remove the battery's negative cable from the vehicle. In installing it, begin by installing the battery negative cable to the vehicle. For 4.8l and 6.0l engines, do not connect the lead to the frame thus the fastener notice should be followed. Then, connect the lead to the engine block and fasten the bolt to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). For models with a 5.3l engine, attach the lead on the frame. Then attach the lead to the inner fender panel making sure to tighten the nut to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Lastly, fasten the negative cable to the battery and tighten theboleplate to 17 n.m (13 lb ft).
