The first step to replace the shock absorber in the rear suspension is both raising and supporting the vehicle. First remove the shock absorber upper mounting bolts before unscrewing the lower mounting nut and its corresponding bolt to remove the shock absorber. Begin the installation process by putting in the shock absorber along with installation of the lower mounting nut and bolt . Observe the requirements stated in the Fastener Notice. The procedure calls for upper mounting bolt installation of the shock absorber followed by bolt torque set to 25 N.m (18 lb ft) while lower mounting nut torque requires 80 N.m (59 lb ft). Finally, lower the vehicle.
