    Q:
How to replace the shock absorber on a rear-wheel drive on Chevrolet Express 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin Shock Absorber replacement on rear-wheel drive vehicles by securely raising and supporting the vehicle with sufficient equipment. A jack stand should be used to support the lower Control Arm of the vehicle. Start by removing the Shock Absorber nut with bushing then lower mounting bolts before removing the Shock Absorber from the vehicle. The new Shock Absorber must be put into its designated position with precision to guarantee correct alignment of its mounting holes with the lower Control Arm. Position the new Shock Absorber within its mounting holes of the lower Control Arm before tightening lower mounting bolts to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Fasten the upper retaining nut and bushing before you tighten it to 20 n.m at 15 lb ft. When finished with the installation remove protective stands and reduce the vehicle to the floor. Finally, dispose of the old Shock Absorber properly.

    Q:
How to replace the shock absorber on a rear-wheel drive on GMC Savana 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
A technician needs to lift the vehicle so it becomes stationary but stable before starting Shock Absorber replacement tasks on rear-wheel drive cars. A jack stand should support the lower Control Arm while the Shock Absorber nut and bushing together with lower mounting bolts need removal before the Shock Absorber separates from the vehicle. After proper placement of the new Shock Absorber, position it correctly between the lower Control Arm mounting holes. You should bolt the lower mounting hardware first then apply torque of 25 nm (18 lb ft), before fastening the upper bushing and nut to 22 nm (16 lb ft). Eliminate safety stands when you have confirmed all fasteners are sufficiently tightened before bringing the vehicle to its normal position. Finally, dispose of the old Shock Absorber in accordance with disposal guidelines.
