How to replace the lower intermediate steering shaft on 2007 GMC Savana 3500?

The first step in replacing the lower intermediate Steering Shaft requires the Steering Column to be in lock position while the wheels remain straight ahead to avoid sir coil assembly damage. Install the Steering Column anti-rotation pin (J 42640) inside the Steering Column's lower access hole. Start the next step by lifting and securing the vehicle. Record marks on the lower intermediate shaft to the power steering gear for future reassembly. Start by removing the retaining bolt between the lower intermediate shaft and power steering gear before disconnecting the shaft from the gear. Untighten the retaining bolt that retains the lower intermediate shaft to the intermediate shaft bearing before disconnecting the shaft from the bearing. Following this step complete the removal of the lower intermediate shaft from the vehicle. Put the lower intermediate shaft into the vehicle position then join it to the intermediate shaft bearing following the fastener notice. Secure the intermediate shaft bearing's retaining bolt with a torque of 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Secure the lower intermediate shaft to the power steering gear through bolt retention at 61 n.m (45 lb ft). Then follow pre-made marks during assembly. The final step requires vehicle lowering and removal of the Steering Column anti-rotation pin (J 42640) from the lower Steering Column access opening.
