How to replace the left side exhaust manifold on a 4.3L engine on 2007 GMC Sierra 1500?

A mechanic should start with raising and supporting the vehicle before performing this repair on the left side Exhaust Manifold (4.3L). Lower the vehicle after you remove the Catalytic Converter to Exhaust Manifold nuts installation. You must start by removing the Exhaust Manifold heat shield bolts then shield and afterward removing the spark plugs from the engine. Position Spark Plug Wires to an appropriate location away from the work area when required. Take out the Exhaust Manifold by removing its bolts and stud followed by removing it along with the gaskets which need discarding. The Exhaust Manifold to Catalytic Converter seal should be taken off along with its disposal. To install the system start with new Exhaust Manifold to Catalytic Converter seal that you should place in the Catalytic Converter relief. After this position the Exhaust Manifold then install the manifold studs to the Catalytic Converter. Insert new Exhaust Manifold gaskets between the manifold and Cylinder Head while installing Exhaust Manifold bolts and stud with torque at 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Place new spark plugs in place before setting the Exhaust Manifold heat shield onto the manifold along with its bolts that need tightening to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Rise the vehicle once more before installing the Catalytic Converter to the Exhaust Manifold. Secure the nuts tightly at 50 n.m (37 lb ft) before allowing the vehicle to descend.
