How to replace the upper control arm on 2500 and 3500 on 2007 GMC Sierra 3500 Classic?

Replace the upper Control Arm on the models 2500 and 3500 by removing the tire and wheel and lowering the vehicle as well as supporting the lower Control Arm. Next, undo the retaining bolt for the brake hose and the wheel speed sensor mounts, then the nut at the top end of the Ball Joint, which can be thrown away. Release the top Control Arm using a Ball Joint separator (J-42188-B) and pull off the Steering Knuckle upper Control Arm nuts and adjustment cams, before extracting the upper Control Arm. For installation mount the new upper Control Arm and bring in the upper Control Arm bolts, tightening nuts to 190 n.m (140 lb ft). Put the upper Control Arm onto the Steering Knuckle and fit a new nut on the upper Ball Joint stud in future tighten it to 50 n.m (39 lb ft). Replace retaining bolts for the brake hose and wheel speed sensor brackets, fasten at 9 n.m (80 lb in). Finally, lift the vehicle to drop the lower Control Arm support, reinstall the tire and the wheel, and check the alignment of the wheels.
