How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor on an Allison Automatic Transmission on 2007 GMC Sierra 3500 Classic?

Begin by turning off the vehicle ignition and disconnecting the external wiring harness from the speed sensor to replace an Allison Automatic Transmission Speed Sensor. First unscrew the bolt holding the speed sensor then extract the speed sensor with care. Rotating the new speed sensor in its retaining bracket during installation will cause improper sensor operation. Slip a fresh O-ring onto the speed sensor before applying transmission fluid to its surface. Then clamp the sensor into the speed sensor bore such that the bolt hole in the speed sensor boss lines up with the hole in the retaining bracket. First tighten the speed sensor bolt to 12 N.m (108 lb in), then reconnect the external wiring harness to the speed sensor .
