• Q: How to replace the oil pan on 2008 Cadillac CTS?

  A: Replace the Oil Pan starting with engine front cover removal followed by detachment of the power steering hose retainer and intermediate Steering Shaft from the A/C Compressor bracket. You must remove the Engine Mount lower nuts yet keep all a/c pipes or hoses intact. After removing the A/C Compressor bracket bolts you should move the bracket aside and drain the engine oil. Install the engine support fixture by tightening its wing nuts allowing clearance for the Oil Pan installation on the engine's right side after removing the transmission oil cooler pipe retainer. It is now time to take out the Oil Pan while optional disassembly and cleaning is done before conducting an inspection. After pan assembly you should install it while simultaneously loosening the wing nuts of the support fixture to drop the engine below the frame level and mount the motor to the structure. After removing the engine support fixture reinstall the transmission oil cooler pipe retainer before filling the new engine oil into the system. Install the A/C Compressor bracket together with the compressor before tightening the lower Engine Mount nuts. Install the power steering hose retainer on the A/C Compressor bracket before you connect the intermediate Steering Shaft and reinstall the engine front cover.
