How to replace the steering linkage outer tie rod on all-wheel drive on 2008 Cadillac CTS?

Before replacing the steering linkage outer Tie Rod on all-wheel drive vehicles you must first detach the tire and wheel set. The first task is to take off and throw away the steering linkage outer Tie Rod nut. The steering linkage outer Tie Rod needs to be disconnected from the Steering Knuckle through the use of puller tool j 24319-b. Before discarding the steering linkage inner Tie Rod nut tighten it against a stop while counting all complete turns necessary to remove the outer Tie Rod. The installation of new tie rods begins with disconnecting the steering linkage outer Tie Rod from its position on the inner Tie Rod . When installing the new steering linkage outer Tie Rod verify that you use the same number of complete turns which were used for removal when fitting it to the steering linkage inner Tie Rod . Fasten the new inner Tie Rod nut while providing the Tie Rod with its attachment to the Steering Knuckle. Tighten the new steering linkage outer Tie Rod nut to 57 n.m (42 lb ft). Installation of the tire and wheel assembly should be followed by adjusting the front toe.
