• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2008 Cadillac DTS?

  A: Throttle Body assembly replacement starts by removing the fuel injector sight shield followed by air cleaner outlet duct removal. You need to detach positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) fresh air tube quick connect fittings at both the camshaft cover and air cleaner outlet duct before you pull the pcv fresh air tube. The first step begins by disconnecting the engine harness electrical connector from the throttle actuator followed by removing the transaxle vent hose clip and transaxle shift cable clip from the shift cable bracket. Afterward, uninstall the Throttle Body bolts. Take out the shift cable bracket and the Throttle Body unit and throw away the Throttle Body seal. Installation begins with installing a new Throttle Body seal and properly position the Throttle Body alongside the shift cable bracket. Following the installation of the Throttle Body bolts at 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque value you should connect the transaxle shift cable clip and the transaxle vent hose clip to their respective positions on the shift cable bracket. Reattach the engine harness electrical connector to the throttle actuator while making sure the pcv fresh air tube gets positioned under the vacuum brake booster hose and in front of the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge valve before connection. When finished connect the pcv fresh air tube quick connect fittings at the camshaft cover and the air cleaner outlet duct and reinstall the air cleaner outlet duct and the fuel injector sight shield.
