- Q: How to replace the front side door window regulator on 2008 Cadillac SRX?A: A proper front side door Window Regulator replacement begins by rising the window to maximum height before removing the door trim panel. Start by removing the water deflector while raising the window to the topmost position for support. You should access the inner door panel holes to loosen the window clamp nuts four times then connect the door trim panel wiring harness. Lower the Window Regulator 3/4 of its path and then remove the electrical connector of the Window Regulator motor. The Window Regulator can be extracted from the door after completely removing its bolts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Mount the Window Regulator into its place in the door before tightening bolts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 until they reach 9 n.m (80 lb in). Once the window support is removed connect the window inside the regulator channels till it expands its maximum rearward position. Start the engine to allow maximum power to flow through the Window Motor before performing the window seating process. Fully raise the window and secure the window clamp nuts at 11 n.m torque (95 lb in force). Check the window is properly seated before you turn off the engine. The water deflector joins with the door trim panel for installation. As a final step repeat the reprogramming procedure for the power Window Regulator.
