Start by removing the transaxle side select and shift control cable pins along with their washers then disconnect the select and shift control cable before taking out the cable e-rings. Remove the floor console by disconnecting the cables from their cable bracket. You must first reach the gear Shift Cable by moving the floor carpeting before proceeding to disconnect the shift control cable by removing the u-clip, eye ring and e-ring of the select control cable. You must first remove the shift control cable pin before taking out the cable e-ring then the shift control cable. Pull both cables out through the compartment opening after disconnecting their cable nuts. The cable installation requires placement of these wires via the dash panel to the engine bay and their attachment to the select and shift lever bases. Group the shift control cables that come from the transaxle side with the select control cables together with the gear shift lever side control cable. Set the select arm pin of the gear shift select control cable eye ring before installing the gear shift selector lever control cable clip. Install the gear shift select control cable to the gear shift lever bracket by using the e-ring while deploying a screwdriver into the select arm adjustment hole to keep the gear shift lever fixed in neutral position. Before installing the floor console connect the side select control cable of the gear shift lever and then reconnect the floor console. Set the gear cable adjust nut at 8-12 n.m (71-106 lb in) and put back both the battery and the Air Hose to the Throttle Body and air cleaner.
