You should start your task of replacing the Exhaust Manifold heat shield on the llv - 2.9l by taking off both the air cleaner outlet duct and air cleaner assembly. On m30-equipped vehicles disconnect the transmission filler tube bracket nut at the a.i.r. Adapter while placing it to the side. Remove the heated Oxygen Sensor from its position on the Exhaust Manifold afterward unfasten the three heat shield nuts from the Exhaust Manifold and detach the shield. To install the new heat shield position it on the Exhaust Manifold and apply gm p/n 12371386 anti-seize (Canadian P/N 993128) to heat shield nuts before installation at 10 n.m (89 lb in). Install the ho2s onto the Exhaust Manifold while tightening the bracket nut to 12.5 n.m (111 lb in). Also replace the transmission filler tube to the a.i.r. Adapter when necessary and fasten with the appropriate bracket nut. Put the air cleaner assembly together with the air cleaner outlet duct after completing the installation procedure.
