Bolt removal of the Exhaust Manifold should precede the extraction of the Exhaust Manifold with its attached gasket while discarding the removed gasket. Begin the installation process by setting the Exhaust Manifold Gasket on the cylinder head followed by correct positioning of the Exhaust Manifold. Install new Exhaust Manifold bolts through application of threadlock gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to their threads before assembly. Use a sequence when tightening Exhaust Manifold bolts to 20 n.m (15 lb ft) three times for proper mounting. Attach both the Exhaust Manifold heat shield and exhaust seal as the last step of installation.
