2008 Chevrolet Colorado Canister Purge Valves Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the canister purge valves on 2008 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: To repair evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve, initially rest and support the vehicle sufficiently to be able to observe the valve by means of wheelhouse. Remove the left wheelhouse liner. Disconnect the EVAP purge hose/pipe and the EVAP purge hose from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve using the Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service. Next, disconnect from the valve the electrical connector, remove the bolt that fastens the valve to the engine, and remove the valve. For installation, mount the new EVAP canister purge solenoid valve onto the engine with a strict adherence to the Fastener Notice. Tighten the bolt securing it to 10 N.m (89lb in). Connect the electrical connector to the valve, then reconnect the EVAP purge hose/pipe and the EVAP purge hose to the valve by using the Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service. Finally, re-install the left wheelhouse liner, and lower it back down.
