2007 Chevrolet Colorado Canister Purge Valves Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the canister purge valves on 2007 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: The first step to change the Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve involves elevating the vehicle to an accessible level through the wheelhouse so technicians can access the solenoid valve. Use the Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service to disconnect the EVAP purge hose/pipe and the EVAP purge hose from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve. Lastly, disconnect the electrical connector from the solenoid valve. To extract the valve remove the bolt that secures the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve to the engine block. When installing the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve position it on the engine then bolt it down using 10 N.m (89 lb in) torque. Using the Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service, set up the EVAP purge hose/pipe connection to the valve then install the electrical connector on the solenoid valve. Install the left wheelhouse liner and lower the whole vehicle at the end of the process.
