How to replace the fuel filler hose on 2008 Chevrolet Colorado?

Drain part of the Fuel Tank to a level under the fuel fill hose prior to Fuel Tank filler hose replacement. Begin by supporting the vehicle elevated height to reach the fill hose through the wheelhouse liner after which you must remove the left pickup box wheelhouse liner. Start by taking off the fuel fill hose ground strap bolt which then needs the ground strap to be detached from the frame structure. The process starts with loosening the fuel fill hose clamp at the Fuel Tank and breaking the connection between the fill tube vent line and the Fuel Tank evaporative emission (EVAP) line quick connect fitting. First remove the fuel fill hose from the Fuel Tank and then disconnect the screws and pull out the hose through the vehicle. Ensure the open Fuel Tank end receives a cap to stop contamination. After uncapping the Fuel Tank you should place the fuel fill hose toward the fender. Secure the fuel fill hose screws while tightening them to 2 n.m (18 lb in) followed by Fuel Tank attachment of the fuel fill hose. The Fuel Tank evap line quick connect fitting needs to connect to the fill tube vent line before tightening the fuel fill hose clamp at the Fuel Tank to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). The frame receives the ground strap with the anti-rotation tab inside a frame hole followed by tightening the fuel fill hose ground strap bolt to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Put back the left pickup box wheelhouse liner followed by lower vehicle position while refilling Fuel Tank before adding the fuel fill cap.
