The first step to replace the Fuel Filler Hose requires draining part of the fuel from the tank until its level falls below the hose opening. The driver should raise and support the vehicle to reach the Fuel Filler Hose through the wheelhouse liner before removing the left pickup box wheelhouse liner. First unfasten the bolt which maintains the Fuel Filler Hose ground strap to the frame. Then disconnect the Fuel Filler Hose from the Fuel Tank. The installation of a new Fuel Filler Hose begins with disconnecting the evap hose from the filler vent tube then removing the Fuel Filler Hose screws before extracting the hose out of the vehicle. You must install a cover onto the revealed Fuel Tank opening. After uncapping the Fuel Tank position the Fuel Filler Hose to the fender and install the Fuel Filler Hose screws while tightening them to two n.m (18 lb in). Install the Fuel Filler Hose to the Fuel Tank by securing it using a Fuel Filler Hose clamp with force of 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). Secure the evap hose to the filler vent tube through the bolt which also anchors the Fuel Filler Hose ground strap to the frame by tightening it to 9 n.m (80 lb in). After refilling the Fuel Tank lower the vehicle then put on the fuel fill cap before searching for any fluid seepage.

Replacing the Fuel Filler Hose begins with draining part of the Fuel Tank so that its level matches or descends below the fuel fill tube position. After safely elevating your vehicle you can reach the Fuel Filler Hose through the wheelhouse liner thus allowing you to take out the left pickup box wheelhouse liner. The procedure starts with unbolting the Fuel Filler Hose ground strap from the frame before removing the Fuel Filler Hose from the Fuel Tank. The first step for Fuel Filler Hose installation is toconduct the following sequence: disconnect the evap hose from the filler vent tube, remove the Fuel Filler Hose screws before pulling the hose out of the vehicle. The Fuel Tank requires an end cap to be installed. The first step is to remove the Fuel Tank cover before you place the Fuel Filler Hose against the fender. After that, install the Fuel Filler Hose screws while tightening them to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Fit the Fuel Filler Hose onto the Fuel Tank after securing its clamp at 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). Thread the evap hose to the filler vent tube while using the bolt for securing the Fuel Filler Hose ground strap to the frame. Secure the bolt at 9 n.m (80 lb in). Below this step are two tasks: first reinstall the left pickup box wheelhouse liner and lower the vehicle and then refill the Fuel Tank followed by installing the fuel fill cap while performing leak inspections on the system.

Draining some fuel from the tank below the fuel fill tube should be the first step before beginning Fuel Filler Hose replacement. A sufficient height raise and support of the vehicle allows access to the Fuel Filler Hose through the wheelhouse liner so the left pickup box wheelhouse liner can be removed. First disconnect the Fuel Filler Hose from the Fuel Tank while removing the bolt which secures the Fuel Filler Hose ground strap to the frame. Before removing the Fuel Filler Hose from the vehicle disconnect both the evap hose from the filler vent tube and the Fuel Filler Hose screws. Use an appropriate cap to close the opening in the Fuel Tank. Installation starts with uncapping the Fuel Tank while directing the Fuel Filler Hose to the fender before tightening Fuel Filler Hose screws to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Use the Fuel Filler Hose to connect with the Fuel Tank while tightening its clamp to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). Secure the evap hose to the filler vent tube by installing bolt which holds the Fuel Filler Hose ground strap to the frame. Tighten the bolt to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Place back the left pickup box wheelhouse liner and lower the vehicle before you fill the Fuel Tank then install its cap followed by an inspection for any fluid leakage.

A proper replacement of the Fuel Filler Hose begins by partially draining the Fuel Tank beneath the Fuel Filler Hose level. The installer needs to raise the vehicle while supporting it adequately to reach the Fuel Filler Hose through the wheelhouse liner before removing the left pickup box wheelhouse liner. Start by taking off the bolt which attaches the Fuel Filler Hose ground strap to the frame and proceed to disconnect the Fuel Filler Hose from the Fuel Tank. Start by disconnecting the filler vent hose from the evaporative emission system then remove the Fuel Filler Hose screws before extracting it through the vehicle compartment. Put a cap on the exposed Fuel Tank opening. Place the Fuel Filler Hose to the fender and screw and tightly torque all Fuel Filler Hose screws to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Fasten the Fuel Filler Hose at the Fuel Tank with a clamp that requires tightness of 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). Secure both connections by installing the bolt which fastens the Fuel Filler Hose ground strap to the frame while tightening it to 9 n.m (80 lb in). The left pickup box wheelhouse liner receives reinstallation followed by a vehicle lowering process. The Fuel Tank receives refilling and the fuel fill cap installation then proceeds with a leakage inspection.

Uncap the fuel tank and position the fuel fill hose to the fender.

Remove the fuel fill hose ground strap bolt and the ground strap from the frame.
