Disengaging the positive Battery Cable from the battery should be the next step. Begin by tearing out the rear compartment carpet then unscrewing the passenger rear compartment front side trim panel together with the right door sill plate. Remove the rear compartment carpet and battery cables can be accessed through it while you rid yourself of the positive Battery Cable retainers. The first step involves opening the carpet that covers the fuse/relay center before removing the positive Battery Cable nut and lead from its stud at the fuse/relay center. Problem solving step 3 requires extraction of the positive Battery Cable grommet from the dash panel for proper cable removal. After positioning the positive cable the installer must guide the grommet into the dashboard. After securing the positive Battery Cable to its retainers you should move the carpet and install the right door sill plate and the passenger rear compartment front side trim panel. The installation process starts by replacing the rear compartment carpet and attaching the positive cable lead to the fuse/relay center stud and finally tightening the positive Battery Cable nut to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Safely close the stud cover of the fuse/relay center while completing the reconnection procedure by linking the positive cable to the battery then reconnecting the negative cable.
