  • Q: How to replace the Coolant Pipe for the Radiator Surge Tank Inlet on 2008 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: In order to replace the Radiator surge tank inlet hose/pipe, drain the cooling system (GE 47716). Next, remove the Radiator support. Use the hose clamp pliers (J38185) to release tension and move the surge tank inlet hose clamp to the surge tank, and remove the surge tank inlet hose from the surge tank. Repeat the process with the hose clamp at Throttle Body assembly and disengage the hose from surge tank inlet hose from the air bleed pipe assembly. Once more, utilize hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to reposition the clamp at the Radiator and removed the surge tank inlet hose from the Radiator. Take out the surge tank inlet hose assembly from the car. For installation, hose inside diameters should be lubricated with clean coolant before fitting surge tank inlet hose assembly to the vehicle. With the hose clamp pliers (J 38185), reconnect the surge tank inlet hose and reposition the clamp on the Radiator directly, reattach the hose to the air bleed pipe assembly. Again reposition the clamp with the use of the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) and attach the hose to the surge tank.
