2007 Chevrolet Corvette Coolant Pipe Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the surge tank inlet coolant pipe on 2007 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Draining the cooling system must occur before implementing surge tank inlet hose replacement. The Radiator support comes off first and hose clamp pliers (J 38185) help separate the surge tank inlet hose clamp tension and position the clamp correctly at the surge tank before the surge tank inlet hose gets disconnected from the surge tank. The procedure should also be done at the Throttle Body assembly and Radiator where the surge tank inlet hose needs to be detached from the air bleed pipe assembly and the Radiator. Before installation of the surge tank inlet hose assembly on the vehicle, clean coolant must be used to lubricate its inside diameters. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) should be used to install the surge tank inlet hose assembly by both attaching it to the Radiator and resetting the hose clamp at the Radiator. Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to secure the hose between the air bleed pipe assembly and surge tank inlet and secure the hose clamp at the surge tank location. Close by replacing the Radiator support while filling the cooling system.
