A: Start the 6.0l Water Pump replacement task by unlinking the air intake unit and turning off the accessory Drive Belt first. You should employ either draining and filling cooling system (GE 47716) draining and filling cooling system (Static Fill) to remove the cooling system fluid. Adjust the Water Pump hose clamps first then detach all water and heater hoses after moving their new clamping positions. Take out all Water Pump bolts while also bringing out the Water Pump and gaskets. Check the Water Pump parts for cleanliness and check them thoroughly before putting the pump in its place. Place the Water Pump and gaskets over the engine block according to fastener notice requirements. After placing the Water Pump position its bolts first to 15 n.m (11 lb ft) then secure them at 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Secure each hose connection for the heater inlet and surge tank outlet before attaching the hose clamps for both the inlet and outlet. Position the accessory Drive Belt and then use draining and filling cooling system materials to add fluid to the cooling system before placing back the air cleaner intake duct.
