The draining and filling cooling system (GE 47716) procedure should be used to drain the cooling system. Using the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) remove tension from the Radiator outlet hose clamp found on the Radiator to succeed in hose separation. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) enables you to disconnect the Radiator outlet hose from the engine by first lowering the vehicle then releasing clamp tension at both the engine and Radiator. Remove the Radiator outlet hose. During installation check that reference marks between hoses and Radiator line up properly to avoid Radiator fittings strain which may result in damage. Clean coolant should be applied to the inside hose diameters for lubrication purposes. Put the Radiator outlet hose into position and fasten it to the engine. Then apply tension through the Radiator outlet hose clamp which is mounted at the engine. Rise the vehicle and connect the Radiator outlet hose to the Radiator while adding tension to its clamp at the Radiator. After lowering the automobile the technician must utilize the draining and filling cooling system (GE 47716) procedure to perform coolant system filling.
