2007 Chevrolet Corvette Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the radiator on 2007 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Before replacing the Radiator technicians must recover refrigerant from a/c system units followed by draining the cooling system fluid (GE 47716). Liberate the condenser and ease tension from the Radiator inlet hose clamp with hose clamp pliers (J 38185) before removing the hose from the Radiator. The cooling fan and shroud assembly should be lifted upward to allow the tabs to slide out from the Radiator slots before removing the assembly completely. Detach the surge tank inlet hose from the Radiator by moving its attached clamp to another position. The upper transmission oil cooler line and the upper engine oil cooler line require disconnection from the Radiator according to vehicle specifications. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) enables users to disconnect the Radiator outlet hose from the Radiator by untightening the hose clamp's tension. The installation of a new Radiator starts with disconnecting the lower transmission oil cooler line for vehicles with such a feature and the lower engine oil cooler line for vehicles with an engine oil cooler. You should first take out the Radiator from its alignment inside the car. Position the new Radiator within the vehicle then lift its height before connecting either the engine oil cooler line or transmission oil cooler line based on the model. Affix the Radiator outlet hose before you activate the tension on its clamp. The installation requires connecting the upper transmission oil cooler line for vehicles which have transmission oil coolers before lowering the vehicle. Install the surge tank inlet hose before tightening its hose clamp. To attach the cooling fan and shroud assembly through the Radiator slots users should lift upward. Afterwards, install the cooling fan and shroud assembly. Attach the Radiator inlet hose and secure its clamp in place by using hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Follow the steps of installing the condenser then filling the cooling system (GE 47716) before evacuating and recharging the a/c system and completing the process by testing the component fittings with a halogen leak detector (J 39400-A), also checking the transmission fluid level.
