2008 Chevrolet Corvette Radiator Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the radiator hose outlet on 2008 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The Radiator outlet hose replacement requires support of a lifted vehicle first. The cooling system draining and filling (GE 47716) procedure should be used to drain the cooling system. You must disconnect the Radiator outlet hose from the Radiator by removing the clamp tension at the Radiator outlet using hose clamp pliers (J 38185). The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) should be used at the engine side to loosen the Radiator outlet hose clamp while you simultaneously disconnect the hose from the engine. Remove the Radiator outlet hose. Check that reference marks on the hoses match those on the Radiator before installation to avoid Radiator fitting strain which may result in breaking damage. Clean coolant should be used to lubricate the inside diameters of the hose before installation. You should install the Radiator outlet hose while connecting it to the motor before tightening the Radiator outlet hose clamp at engine position. The installation requires raising the vehicle once more to join the Radiator outlet hose to the Radiator and applying tension to the Radiator outlet hose clamp situated at the Radiator. The final step includes lowering the vehicle while performing the cooling system draining and filling procedure as outlined in ge 47716.
