  A: You must drain the cooling system before starting surge tank outlet hose assembly replacement. Start by detaching the radiator support before using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to loosen the surge tank outlet hose clamp at the surge tank. Remove the surge tank outlet hose from its attachment to the surge tank. Exit the surge tank outlet hose assembly from its fittings on the cooling Fan Shroud support tabs and loosen the clamp on the Water Pump before removing the hose from the pump. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) should be used again to step down tension on the heater pipe assembly clamp before detaching the hose from the heater pipe assembly. Extract the surge tank outlet hose assembly that's installed on the vehicle. Before installing the surge tank outlet hose assembly apply clean coolant lubrication to all inside hose diameters. Apply hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to place tension on the heater pipe assembly's clamp before connecting the surge tank outlet hose to the heater pipe assembly. Install the hose at the Water Pump by using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to set proper clamp tension on the Water Pump area. Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to tighten the surge tank clamp after you attach the surge tank outlet hose to its position on the cooling Fan Shroud support tabs. Then install the radiator support before filling up the cooling system.
