2005 Chevrolet Corvette Coolant Pipe Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the surge tank inlet coolant pipe on 2005 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Beginning the surge tank inlet hose replacement requires draining the cooling system while also taking out the Radiator support. You must use hose clamp pliers (J38185) to release tension from the surge tank inlet hose clamp at its surge tank location before disconnecting the hose from the surge tank. The same procedure should be applied to disconnect and reconnect the hose which links between the Throttle Body assembly and the Radiator. After extracting the surge tank inlet hose assembly from the vehicle wipe the inside diameter of new parts with fresh coolant before final installation. Thread the surge tank inlet hose to the Radiator before using hose clamp pliers (J38185) to reposition the hose clamp at the Radiator and then connect the hose to the air bleed pipe assembly. Use hose clamp pliers (J38185) to adjust hose clamps initially at the Throttle Body assembly before joining the surge tank hose and finally repositioning surge tank clamps through use of the hose clamp pliers (J38185). The cooling system requires replenishment before reinstalling the Radiator support.
