2005 Chevrolet Corvette Water Pump Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace a water pump on 2005 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Before replacing the Water Pump you must detach the air cleaner intake duct and accessory Drive Belt followed by draining the cooling system. Change drain positions for both Water Pump inlet and outlet hoses then flip clamp settings on heater and surge tank and detach those connected hoses. Take out the Water Pump bolts and the Water Pump from the engine block. Remove the Water Pump gaskets while cleaning both components. Fit the Water Pump and its gaskets onto the engine before bolt it into place. First apply a torque of 15 nm onto the bolts before achieving a final nut torque of 30 nm. Connect the surge tank and the heater inlet hoses while placing their clips into position then attach the water inlet and water outlet hoses with their clamps installed. Connect the accessory Drive Belt then fill the cooling system before putting back the air cleaner intake duct.
