Q: How to replace the front door window regulator on 2008 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The process to replace front door window regulators begins with taking out door trim panel followed by removing water deflector and radio speaker assembly through electrical disconnecting and speaker screw removal. The next step involves taking out the plugs located both on the door window itself and inside the window clamp sight access holes. You need to disconnect the regulator motor electrical connector along with the front plug located at the bottom door frame before documenting where the regulator should go for final assembly. Extract the regulator through the door inner opening by first taking off all regulatory hardware through the lower channel studs, motor studs and upper channel studs then unfolding the regulator. To install the new regulator properly adjust regulator jack screws if required and fold the regulator while inserting it into the door opening with the motor in front. Place the motor studs through the door inner panel while you install nuts on the motor studs and secure them tightly at 10 n.m (89 lb in). Use the holes in the door to install regulator channel studs which must follow a correct order before inserting the regulator rose bud clip and tightening each channel stud nut to 10 n.m (89 lb in). After reattaching the electrical connector and reconnecting the window switch users should first position the regulator at full up before installing the window while aligning it correctly with the door opening. The first screw should be inserted into the top of the door before tightening the remaining screws in criss-cross order to 3 n.m (27 lb in). Install audio/electrical connectors before adding plugs to window clamp sight holes. First reinstall the door trim panel and the water deflector before checking the window fit for proper adjustment. After that install access plugs in the door bottom. Finally reinitialize the windows.
