2007 Chevrolet Corvette Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front door window regulator on 2007 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The replacement of front door window regulators starts by taking out the door trim panel as well as water deflector and radio speaker assembly through the removal of electrical/audio connector and speaker retaining screws. The process begins by taking away plugs from both window clamp sight access holes and door window. First disconnect the regulator motor electrical connector and take the front plug from under the bottom of the door then make marks for later reinstallation of the regulator. Start by removing all nuts from the channel studs at the regulator's lower section and motor and upper section before folding the regulator to be extracted through the door inner opening. Install the new regulator with the motor pointing forward by adjusting jack screws equal to the old one before inserting the folded regulator into the door opening. Insert the motor studs from the door inner panel before you secure the nuts tight at 10 n.m (89 lbin). When installing the regulator channel studs through the door holes, bolt the nuts starting from upper forward then lower forward before proceeding to upper rearward and finally lower rearward while tightening them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). After reconnecting the window switch, you must link the electrical connector to the motor and attach the regulator rose bud clip to the door before raising the regulator fully upwards. Install the window before aligning it with the door opening and placing the plugs back into the sight access holes of the window clamp. The speaker installation process begins by reattaching the uppermost screw of the speaker assembly and continues with the criss-cross placement of remaining screws that require 3 n.m (27 lb in) torque. The electrical/audio connector should be connected along with the water deflector and door trim panel. After checking the window fit you must install the access plugs to the bottom of the door then reinitialize the windows.
