How to replace the Hood Cable for the Primary Latch Release on 2008 Chevrolet Express 3500?

One should lift and stabilize the hood before starting the replacement of the hood primary Hood Cable. Before replacing the Hood Latch and radiator support retainer use a cable removal tool. You should insert both cable and grommet through the cab opening from the engine compartment. Start by taking away the left side hinge pillar trim panel from the body. Then detach the screws which secure the cable handle to the body and remove the handle from the body. Use the new cable to guide it through the cabin and engine bay installations before installing the vehicle cable. Create a hole in the bulkhead and insert the grommet before mounting the cable handle to the body so you can bolt it into place. Reinstall the left side hinge pillar trim panel and connect the cable to the retainer of the radiator support and the Hood Latch. Finally, close the hood.
