  • Q: How to replace the Clutch Master Cylinder on 2008 Chevrolet HHR?
    A: In order to replace the Clutch Master Cylinder remove the clutch pedal retainer, located at the front of clutch pedal assembly, and pull the clutch pedal upward to knock the Pushrod out of the way off the pedal. Next, remove the ubec. Put then a towel shop underneath the Clutch Master Cylinder in order to absorb any fluid loss, then remove the Clutch Hose and the clutch line from the cylinder. Cover the reservoir and the hydraulic lines to avoid losing fluids and their contamination and then rotate the Clutch Master Cylinder 1/4 turn clockwise and remove it from your car. For installation, complete the alignment of the Pushrod with the clutch pedal and then install the Clutch Master Cylinder while turning it 1/4 turn in the counter-clockwise direction. Unseal the reservoir and hydraulic lines, mount the clutch line and Clutch Hose to the master cylinder, and reinstall the ubec. Attach the Pushrod to the clutch pedal, apply the clutch pedal retainer, and bleed the clutch hydraulic system.
