To replace the engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, start by draining the coolant system well below the ect sensor. Move the air cleaner assembly to tip the top of the engine. If you've got either automatic or manual transaxle, then remove the ect sensor after disconnecting the ect sensor electrical connector. When working on installing the new ect sensor, be sure to use the correct part number for the application and take care not to damage the part to affect the fuel control system. Tighten the sensor to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). The technician should connect the ect sensor electrical connector according to the type of transaxle, relocate the air cleaner assembly, and fill the cooling system.
