    A: To replace the engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, it is recommended to drain the coolant system below the ect sensor. Next, remove the air cleaner assembly from the top of the engine and move it. Detach the ect sensor electrical connector if either an automatic or manual transaxle is fitted and remove ect sensor from the vehicle. On installation of the new ect sensor, ensure that it is the correct part number required for the job and be careful not to damage it, so as not change the fuel control system. Before installing the sensor, the sensor must be tightened to the load of 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Reconnect the ect sensor connectors according to the type of the transaxle, reposition the air cleaner assembly and fill in the cooling system.
