How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) in a Getrag 5 Speed manual transmission on 2007 Chevrolet HHR?

To install a new vss in a getrag 5 speed transmission start by unplugging its electrical connector before removing its bolt and retainer. Compress the vss towards you to part it from the transmission and take out the o-ring. Lightly coat a new o-ring with dexron iii transmission fluid before installing it then put the vss assembly back in place and the retainer. Attach and torque the vss retainer bolt to 12 n.m (8 lb ft). Connect the vss electrical connector and place the vehicle back down.
