How to replace the intake camshaft position sensor on 2007 Chevrolet HHR?

Starting the replacement process of the intake camshaft position (CMP) sensor requires air cleaner assembly removal above all else. The engine wiring harness electrical connector needs detachment from the cmp sensor before you can remove the cmp sensor bolt and sensor. Assess cmp sensor condition before installation and get a new one if there is any damage found. Apply engine oil to the cmp sensor o-ring seal before installing the cmp sensor by using the cmp sensor bolt which should be tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Relace the engine wiring harness electrical connector on the intake cmp sensor then install the air cleaner assembly.
