2008 Chevrolet HHR Thermostat Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the engine coolant thermostat for LE5-2.4L, L61-2.2L, or LE5 on 2008 Chevrolet HHR?
A: Engine coolant Thermostat replacement for le5-2.4l, l61-2.2l and le5 models requires coolant system draining as the first step. First reposition the clamp securing the radiator outlet hose at the Thermostat Housing then remove the hose. The procedure begins with removing the Thermostat Housing cover bolts followed by the cover removal after which the Thermostat is detached and the existing o-ring seal must be discarded. Begin the installation process by putting a new Thermostat Housing o-ring seal on first before adding the Thermostat. The Thermostat Housing cover bolts should be tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Position the radiator outlet hose on the Thermostat Housing before you place its clamp. Finally, fill the cooling system.
